Heart Link

Talk to nearly any military spouse and you’ll hear how tough it can be when married to a military member. The stresses caused by deployments, separations, learning the myriad of acronyms are difficult enough, but it often takes years for a spouse to learn which base agencies and services are available to them.

To help make the transition from civilian to military life easier, the Airman & Family Readiness Center hosts Heart Link. It uses a fun and interactive environment to help new spouses learn military protocol, understand the healthcare system, locate family assistance programs, and discover recreation programs on base. In this forum, they can learn what they need to know to make the most of the military lifestyle and available services. The class curriculum is fast-paced and designed to be fun and informative. The program offers participants an opportunity to meet with key personnel including leadership from the 9th Reconnaissance Wing and many other agency staff members.

Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon

We annually hosts a luncheon for Beale members that volunteer in the local community. Since April 2007, Beale members volunteered their time and energy to the local community, an equivalent of $817,215.50! Volunteers represent organizations including the American Red Cross, Beale Tax Center, Beale Little League, Boy/Girl Scouts, Big Brother/Big Sister, the Salvation Army, Special Olympics local food banks and shelters, nursing homes and community forums, the chapel, schools and many other base organizations. Keep track of your volunteer hours and join us for our next luncheon.

Spouse Appreciation Day

Many couples celebrate their togetherness and thankfulness for having one another on Valentine’s Day, Sweetest Day or their anniversary; but since 1984 Military members have had the opportunity to say “Thanks” on another special occasion. In 1984 President Reagan proclaimed the Friday before Mother's Day of each year to be Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Here at Beale we honor the military spouse annually with a day of activities to allow your spouse to relax, learn and be recognized by the community for thier sacrifices. The event often offers great door prizes, free materials, and sometimes community discounts.

Junior PDF Line

To help children understand the deployment prcess, the support programs available, and create a safe mental picture of deployed life for thier parents, we host the Junior PDF line. This annual event provides the kids and their families to process through a fun and interactive mock deployment line, "deploy" to a site where they can engage in various activites and then "redeploy" home.
